Puente Nuevo (New Bridge) of Ronda
In our trip to Andalucia, we had to go visit this magnificant bridge, known as Ronda bridge.
The Puente Nuevo (New Bridge) in Ronda, Spain, is an architectural marvel that took 42 years to build, standing nearly 100 meters above the El Tajo Gorge. Completed in 1793, it connects the old and new parts of the city, offering breathtaking views of the Serranía de Ronda mountains and the Guadalevín River below. Despite its name, the “New Bridge” is over 230 years old and holds a dark history, as it was allegedly used as a prison during the Spanish Civil War. Designed by architect José Martín de Aldehuela, it has inspired filmmakers and writers, including Ernest Hemingway, and remains a major tourist attraction today.
The shot is taken exactly after the sunset where the blue light is taking over, and the bridges illumination creates interesting color contrast!
