Dancing on a Frozen Lake. 1

It was a cold and short lasting winter and when Julia suggested to do a photoshoot in -7c I knew it is gonna be tough for both (but obviously even tougher for her!) No need to say that we both froze, and even my blanket couldn’t make Julia feel warmer at the end of the shoot which lasted less than an hour.
But all of the effort was worth it when I captured this emotional expressive moment of her dancing with the last light of sun over a frozen river.
Stay tuned for more photos of this series.

– Taken Feb 2021

  • Aperture: ƒ/3.2
  • Camera: ILCE-7M3
  • Focal length: 52mm
  • ISO: 100
  • Shutter speed: 1/320s

The photo is taken by a Godox flash located at the front right side of the model (1 o clock) with a yellow gel and without any modifier.

Editing Tips: When you want to edit photos of snowy days you should try to keep the whites which are dominant, whites. That makes the whole editing very subtle. I don’t mind adding a little blue to shadows.
