Photo of an old man from behind

It was his far-off gaze that grabbed my attention first. What was he thinking? It could be a memory, like a boat trip with his first love 50 years ago on the same river… it could be anything, but whatever it was, I felt I was with him without knowing him.

I do not even remember when I took this photo. Should be sometime between 2013 and 2015. But the feelings this photo conveys are actual and strong to me even today.

This is one of the first photos I took with my at-the-time SONY Nex5 camera. With this photo I realized that emotions can play a big role in photography…
